Billing, Cancellation & Refunds

Last updated: Version 1.0 — effective August 8, 2026

Everything about money, in one place, before you buy. Nothing here is hidden in the agreement — these are the same terms, written shorter.

This document is a working draft prepared for legal review. It describes how Havelin actually operates, but it has not been reviewed by an attorney and is not legal advice.

What you pay and when

Every package has two parts: a one-time setup and build fee charged when you purchase, and a recurring monthly website care fee. Presence is $4,995 setup plus $199 per month; Commerce is $7,995 setup plus $349 per month; Signature is $11,995 setup plus $599 per month.

The setup fee is charged immediately at checkout. Your first monthly charge occurs when your website launches, and then on the same day each month after that.

Both amounts, the billing frequency and the start of recurring billing are shown on the checkout page before you pay, and you must affirmatively accept them to continue.

What the monthly fee covers

Hosting and platform management, security and software updates, monitoring and health checks, backups, broken-link and uptime checks, minor fixes, your dashboard and support access, and one included Monthly Business Update each month.

If you want a second update in the same month, an Additional Improvement Request is $750 and is only charged after you authorize it in your dashboard.

Authorization and automatic renewal

Monthly care renews automatically until you cancel. That is stated at checkout, and you authorize it by checking the acceptance box before payment. We record what you accepted, which version, and when.

You can see your current plan, monthly amount and next billing date in your dashboard at any time.

How to cancel

Cancel any time from your dashboard, or by writing to support. No phone maze, no retention script.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period, and your site and services stay active through that period. The current period is not prorated.

After the effective date, ongoing care, monitoring, backups, hosting and Monthly Business Updates stop.

What is refundable

Setup fees pay for customized work performed specifically for your business, so once work has begun they are non-refundable.

If you cancel before any design or build work has started and before your onboarding materials have been processed, we refund the setup fee less any third-party costs already spent on your behalf, such as a purchased domain.

Monthly fees are charged for the period ahead and are not refunded once that period has begun. Cancelling stops future charges.

Additional Improvement Request fees are non-refundable once that work has begun.

We do not refund based on business results, traffic, rankings or enquiry volume. We sell professional work and defined deliverables, not outcomes.

Failed payments

If a payment fails we email you and the processor may retry. If it stays unresolved, ongoing care and portal access may be suspended until the account is current — we will tell you before that happens.

Suspension does not cancel your account or clear amounts already owed.

Billing disputes

Contact support first if a charge looks wrong. We keep a full record of your agreement acceptance, purchases and project activity, and we would rather correct a genuine error quickly than have you file a chargeback.

Filing a chargeback on delivered services or a properly authorized recurring charge is a breach of the agreement, and we may suspend service and pursue the amount and associated fees.

What happens to your website, domain and content

Your domain is yours. If we registered it for you, we will unlock and transfer it to a registrar of your choice once your account is current. Registrar transfer waiting periods are outside our control.

Your business content, copy, photographs and uploaded assets remain yours and can be exported on request.

Continued hosting, care, updates and monitoring require an active subscription. Havelin's own reusable templates, systems and software are not transferred.

Outstanding balances and any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf remain payable.

When Havelin may end service

For non-payment, for unlawful, infringing or prohibited content, or for abusive conduct toward our team. Otherwise we give at least thirty days written notice and help with an orderly transition, refunding any prepaid monthly fees covering the period after termination.

The full terms governing these points are in the Service Agreement. For what you own and how offboarding works, see What You Own.
